When using the Text Box Editor in Blackboard to create content, you may encounter different experiences when copying/pasting text depending on the browser you’re using.

If you do, we suggest you use the Keyboard Shortcuts as shown below.

  • Copy – Hold CTRL on the left side of your keyboard and press C.
  • Paste – Hold the same CTRL button and press V.
  • Undo –  Hold CTRL on the left side of your keyboard and press Z
  • Cut – Hold CTRL on the left side of your keyboard and press X

We have found that when using the Text Box Editor (Paste) tool as highlighted below,

you will experience the following in each browser.

Internet Explorer

The text will paste as expected.

Firefox

You may receive notification that your browser doesn’t support this behaviour as shown below.

In this instance, we suggest you use the Keyboard shortcuts as mentioned at the start of the post.

Chrome

The Chrome browser does not paste, and does not present any notification of alternative methods. In this instance, we suggest you use the Keyboard shortcuts as mentioned at the start of the post.
